Oxford Poverty - Town Hall Meeting
We will participate in this meeting on poverty, in lieu of Sept 27th regular meeting. (No dinner).

Join Oxford leaders and concerned citizens at this discussion on poverty in Oxford.  The evening will feature a panel of local leaders, experts and doctors who will talk about new research to reduce poverty.

Keynote speaker is Dr. Lynn McIntyre, a Professor Emerita of Community Health Sciences at the University of Calgary and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. Retired from her faculty position, she now works on ways to reduce household food insecurity--inadequate access to food due to financial constraint.

McIntyre will lead a conversation on poverty reduction as it might apply to Oxford County by presenting key findings from her research on household food insecurity, which is a marker of deep poverty in Canada. Most of all, she will bust the myth that food-based rather than income-based solutions are needed.

Join us at Unifor Hall 7 pm.  Sponsored by Operation Sharing.
