The Rotary Club of Woodstock-Oxford, Ontario, Canada is enthusiastically responding to Rotary's US $100 Million Challenge with a project which is already exceeding their commitment.  "Drive for Polio Eradication" is the brainchild of Rotarian Rama Murthi.  The campaign involves selling sleeves of two golf balls which bear the Rotary emblem, and also includes several golf tees and a small insert card explaining the campaign.  Each sleeve is sold for $5.00 and provides funds to immunize three children against polio.  The Club launched "Drive for Polio Eradication" in July, 2008 and has sold the golf balls at local Sidewalk Sale Days, Canada's Outdoor Farm Show held in their community and the Woodstock Wood Show.  "It has been a tremendous opportunity to speak to the public about Rotary's efforts to eradicate polio," said Club President Norm Narancsik.  In just four months, nearly $7500.00 has been raised and the Club is now receiving interest from other Rotary Clubs.  "The fundraising aspect of this project has far exceeded our initial expectations and we are glad to share the idea with other Rotarians," said Murthi.  "It is exciting to think about the impact this can have over the three years of the Challenge."

Update on Polio at the end of the three years of Fundraising, we have raised over $22,000 in total, enough to vaccinate over 33,000 children.
